Today’s productions don’t stop when the programme is delivered. Editorial teams are increasingly expected to create attention-grabbing social clips, digital-first edits, podcasts, vodcasts and platform-specific versions. This practical programme will help you turn broadcast footage into compelling content for new audiences, develop hands-on Adobe Premiere Pro skills and build the versatile editorial toolkit needed to stay competitive in a rapidly changing industry.
Combining a focused online introduction with an intensive two-day workshop, you’ll work with genuine footage from a UK unscripted television production. Guided by experienced industry trainers, you’ll explore how strong storytelling can move successfully between television, social media, podcasts, vodcasts and other digital platforms.

The programme begins with an online session exploring changing audience behaviour and why productions are increasingly expected to create content for multiple platforms. You’ll examine the editorial decisions behind effective social, promotional and digital-first content, and consider how storytelling changes across different viewing and listening experiences.
During the two-day practical workshop, you will cover:
An introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro
Editing short-form and digital-first content
Creating engaging social and promotional clips
Repurposing long-form television content for new audiences
Adapting storytelling, structure and pacing for different platforms
Editing for video, podcasts and vodcasts
Working with different aspect ratios and delivery formats
Platform specifications, export requirements and technical deliverables
Transcription, captioning, versioning and content adaptation
Relevant AI-supported tools and workflow efficiencies
Practical editorial decision-making using genuine broadcast footage
The emphasis throughout will remain on strong storytelling, creative judgement and practical workflows that can be applied immediately in the workplace.

Adapt television content for different platforms, formats and audiences
Apply effective storytelling and pacing to short-form content

Most importantly, you’ll leave with a broader understanding of how editorial teams work today and a more versatile set of skills for creating content across television, streaming and digital platforms.
