SUMMARY:No Silly Questions - post production edition (Screenskills Funded)
DESCRIPTION:The “No Silly Questions – post production edition” is a small‑group\, open Q&A session where people can ask the post questions they’ve been meaning to ask for ages — without feeling… well… silly. It’s built for mixed roles across production and post\, because most of the pain comes from the handovers between teams: unclear terminology\, assumptions\, missing info\, and “I thought you meant…” moments that only show up when you’re already under pressure. \nWe’ll give an overview or the post production pipeline\,collect the questions from the group\, cluster them into a few themes\, fill in any missing context\, and work through them with practical examples. This session is about on‑the‑job skills helping people understand post well enough to make better decisions\, communicate properly\, and be the person who makes things run smoother\, more efficient and within budget. Attendees leave with a better overview of the post production processes\, more confidence\, a shared bit of vocabulary and access to a running FAQ of what we covered afterwards. \nThis session is supported by the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV Skills Fund which invests in training for the unscripted workforce thanks to contributions from broadcasters\, SVoDs and production companies. \n \n \n APPLY HERE \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Delivery informationWho is this course forWhat will we coverLearning outcomes\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ONLINE basedLevel -ANYDate – 7th July 202612pm to 1.30pm \n \n \n \n \n \n Anyone in unscripted TV who has to work with post production\, hand material over to post\, or make decisions that affect post. Production Managers/Coordinators\, APs\, Series Producers\, Edit Producers\, Post Co‑ordinators\, AEs\, Editors… all welcome. No technical knowledge expected — if you’ve got questions\, you’re in the right room. \n \n \n \n \n \n \nThis is a proper “ask anything (about post)” session. I’ll kick off with a quick\, plain‑English map of the post process — just enough to give everyone a shared starting point — then we let the group drive with the questions. I’ll capture them\, cluster them into themes\, and we’ll work through answers using real examples from the way post actually runs day‑to‑day.\nThe main thing you’ll leave with is confidence: confidence to ask the questions\, confidence to understand the answers\, and confidence to spot the common trip‑wires early (the stuff that turns into a headache later if nobody flags it). We’ll also talk about what info/assets make things run smoother\, more efficient and within budget\, so you get more time back for the creative bit. \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n What we actually get into depends on the group\, but it often includes who does what in post; software and project basics; media/proxies/codecs; frame rates/aspect ratios/audio channels; workflows and planning; how notes\, versioning and approvals should work; what “lock” does and doesn’t mean; and deliverables/QC basics (plus what tends to cause last‑minute delivery pain). We’ll finish with a quick wrap: top takeaways\, the most useful “things to ask next time”\, and a tidy list of the key points we covered. After the session\, attendees get access to a growing FAQ so they’ve got something to refer back to. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n We offer inclusive training. If you have any needs which we can accommodate during the recruitment process and beyond\, please let us know and we will be happy to work with you to meet them – training@gorillagroup.tv \nWe always welcome applications from under-represented groups\, including\, but not limited to those from Black\, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds; people with a disability; people from the LGBTQ+ community and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n APPLY HERE

SUMMARY:Screenskills - Future proofing your post production workflows
DESCRIPTION:Future‑proofing your post‑production workflows is a practical\, jargon‑free session for Unscripted TV freelancers who want to stay competitive as tools\, budgets and delivery expectations shift. We’ll map the modern post pipeline end‑to‑end and focus on the pinch points that cost time and money: media management\, handovers\, versioning\, remote collaboration and delivery compliance. Drawing on what we’ve learned as a working post facility—what consistently works under pressure\, and what tends to break—we’ll share simple standards that travel well between productions. We’ll also touch on how to keep workflows adaptable as new technology emerges (without pretending anyone knows exactly what the future holds). \nThis session is supported by the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV Skills Fund which invests in training for the unscripted workforce thanks to contributions from broadcasters\, SVoDs and production companies. \n \n \n APPLY HERE \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Delivery informationWho is this course forWhat will we coverLearning outcomes\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ONLINE basedLevel -ANYDate – 20th OCTOBER 202612pm to 2.00pm \n \n \n \n \n \n This training is for Unscripted TV freelancers in production and production management who need smoother post workflows and more predictable deliveries. It’s ideal for Production Managers\, Production Coordinators\, APs\, Series Producers\, Edit Producers and Post Production Coordinators who oversee schedules\, budgets\, workflows\, reviews and handovers between teams and suppliers. Post‑based freelancers will also benefit—especially Assistant Editors and Offline Editors—who want repeatable standards for media management\, version control\, remote collaboration and delivery compliance. \n \n \n \n \n \n Learning objectives: (1) understand a modern Unscripted post workflow from ingest to delivery; (2) reduce avoidable rework through consistent media\, project and version control; (3) run cleaner remote/hybrid collaborations and handovers; and (4) make informed choices about automation/AI without adding compliance or reputational risk. Delivery is primarily show‑and‑tell and example‑led: short taught sections followed by quick demos of simple artefacts (folder structures\, handover packs\, notes/version logs\, delivery checklists) plus practical “what would you do?” scenarios. We’ll capture questions as we go\, with a dedicated Q&A at the end. \nTopics covered: \n\n\n\nWorkflow mapping: roles\, responsibilities and typical failure points in Unscripted post\nMedia management that survives real life: naming\, folder structures\, codecs/HDR considerations\, proxies\, relinks and storage hygiene\nProject setup standards: bins\, sequences\, track layouts\, labels and markers for speed and clarity\nNotes and change control: versions\, review links\, approvals and “single source of truth” habits\nRemote collaboration and handovers: what to document\, what to package\, and how to avoid broken turnovers\nDelivery readiness: export discipline\, audio/loudness basics\, captions\, paperwork and common broadcaster/platform expectations\nTechnology watch: how camera formats/codecs\, software updates\, cloud tools and hardware choices affect post—and how to keep workflows flexible as they change\nAutomation/AI in post: realistic use cases (logging\, transcribe\, rough assemblies) and risk controls (data\, rights\, confidentiality)\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n You’ll leave with a clear checklist you can apply on your next job\, plus templates and habits that reduce stress\, protect quality and make your work easier to scale—from small offline teams to fast‑turnaround multi‑episode series. The session also demystifies where AI and automation can genuinely help (and where they can create risk)\, so you can adopt new tools safely and confidently. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n We offer inclusive training.
