The Data Wrangler role can either be a specific role OR the skills learned can be used in many entry level positions including runner\, researcher and camera assistant etc. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				In the training session we will be looking at the following: \n\nAn overview of current digital camera formats and codecs\nAn overview of current hard drives\, SSDs\, cables\, connectors and software.\nChoosing the correct equipment for a particular job.\nHow to create a simple documentation to record all the essential tasks required\nIntroduction to quality control checking\nHow to securely transfer\, organise and back-up camera data to recognised industry standards\nAn overview of Shotput Pro and Offshoot as wrangling tools\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Once completed you will have a better idea of the role and responsibilities of the data wrangler and have a good idea of how the skills fit into an entry level role. You’ll run through the processes from beginning to end in the key tasks amen on a daily basis using professional equipment. \nThis course covers:\n\nTwo days training with a professional Edit Assistant who is currently working within the industry\nLearn the fundamental tools and processes in using Media Composer\nTake away the skills to be able to manage data\, keep relevant records\, communicate with the editor\, organise projects\, manage layouts and much more\nBasics of Nexis storage use and administration \n\nThis programme will be delivered by Gorilla Academy and is supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions. \nWho’s it for:\nThey training programme is for machine room operators or new entrants into post production who want a guide to skills required to be an edit assistant. Med Composer is the go-to suite for the industry along with Nexis storage – a shared storage solution that aids in the seamless sharing of media and projects for multi-editor environments. \nThis course covers:\n\nTwo days training with one of the leading editors in TV across Wales and the UK\nLearn the fundamental tools and processes in using Media Composer\nTake away the skills to be able to ingest\, organise media\, cut\, export files and manage a project using Media Composer in a shared storage environment\nBasics of Nexis storage use and administration \n\nThis programme will be delivered by Gorilla Academy and is supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions. \nWho’s it for:\nThey training programme is for editors who are used to using other non-linear editing packages\, new entrants who have not had guided support in the use of Media Composer in a post production facility and editors who have not had experience of using Media Composer in a shared storage environment and want to learn more about collaborating with other editors on a project. \nWhat it covers:\nIn this two day course you will be introduced to Media Composer and Nexis storage and walked through the skills required to edit within a shared working environment.
